Hi.
I new to the forum so first of all I want to share my greetings with everyone. I have a question:
Is there a procedure for regaining access to an Nray device that has been reset and the factory password stickers have been erased?
Sun and elements have evaporated the stickers and the unit is reset to its factory settings.
I’ve tried netinstall but no luck password stays to its factory value.
- Check the manual. It’s usually taped on there too.
- Contact your vendor. They usually get a list from MT with passwords.
- Branding Package
- (not sure) custom script with netinstall that sets password.
Actually I solved the problem.
So the procedure is following:
I created a text file Config.rsc only with this command line in it : /user set [find name=admin] password=mypass123
Then started netinstall, put the device in netinstall mode with reset button. After it appearеd in the list : Loaded the appropriate firmware file, unchecked “Apply default config” option and checked “Configure script” option and loaded my Config.rsc file.
And after successful installation the password was set to mypass123.
Hope I’ve helped many lost souls like my self
.
Greetings to all again.
If you add to your script:
/log info " $defconfPassword -- $defconfWifiPassword"
After Netinstall, you can check default passwords on LOG.
You do not need to create a custom script to solve the problem. Simply do NOT check “Apply default config” in Netinstall. Just tested this out on brand-new hAP ax2 to verify. Problem solved.
Thank!!! your post helpme too much
Would you mind explaining how this solves the problem?
What user/psswd will exist if a Netinstall is done WITHOUT checking "Apply default config?"
Thanks!
none, just admin without password....
