I would like to hire someone to come to my home and help me optimize my ptp link. The distance is 1 mile through quite a few trees using 900mhz. I live in Oklahoma. Does anyone here know of a service like this? Also, there is a WISP here that is apparently being run by people who don’t really know what they’re doing. They run v-pol and h-pol everywhere at tx-power levels that are too high and I hear nothing but complaints from their customers. They told me they could not provide service to my home which is why I set up my own ptp link from my business to my home (even though they provide service to my neighbors next door and across the street.) I may be interested in starting a WISP company here to compete directly with them if I could get an expert to come here and do an analysis of the area.

thank you, normis, I will call the men in Pittsburg, KS tomorrow. I have one more quick question; I am using rb411 on both ends (lvl3, only good for ptp) with sr9 radios. I usually run them at frequency=912 and band=2ghz-5mhz and my rb411 reports an average noise floor of -100dbm and signal to noise of 20db-22db. I know the sr9 has a bad habit of misrepresenting the noise floor, but does this seem to be a bad link? My overall Tx CCQ jumps around a lot. I try to run the radios at the lowest tx dbm possible and still maintain a link, but even if I jump the power up I still get many drops. Sometimes though I get a solid connection that lasts a whole day without making any major changes to my link settings. This has to be interference, right?
