Paypall: After succesfull payment, Return URL fails

Hello i have setup usermanager and paypal as described in the wiki.

Everything works fine, but after i make the payment with paypal, and then click the “Return To Merchant” link, it fails to return.

There comes error message: Problem Loading the page, and i can click on try again. When i click try again, then the UM page comes up succesfully.

So it doesnt want to redirect me directly from the Paypal site to User Manager.
First it says problem loading the page, and then i have to click try again, and only then it works.

Edit: I think there is a problem with walled garden, because if i do the payment while i am logged in to hotspot with a valid username and password, the return URL works without problem.

But when I am not logged in, then i always have to press two times in a row on the return link, first time the return is unsuccessful, and the second time it works.

Now i saw that when i make the payment in paypal, at the botom of the page it says conecting to : http://www.paypal.com, then 112.2o7.net, then altfarm.mediaplex.com. Are this urls normal in paypal or is this a virus?

Another thing:
Also the sending email doesn’t work. The user doesn’t get the email with account details. When I check the log in winbox it says: Error sending email: Invalid TO address

What to do?

You can try to add routers public address in HotSpots walled garden.

PayPal uses some other sites to display some if its contents (paypalobjects.com , akamaiedge.net and others). The ones, we have identified, can be found here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/User_Manager/User_payments#PayPal_requirements . If you have discovered, that other sites (besides ones mentioned in wiki) are also required for PayPal and must be added to walled garden, let us know!

I have already added all the addresses to walled garden, as described in the wiki.mikrotik.com.
Also i already have added the routers public address (domain) to walled garden.
Only i didnt add the routers local ip address to walled garden, but i have configured the signup link to use the public address. So i think I dont need to add the routers local ip address to waled garden, or?
Any other idea, would could cause the problem?

P.s why doesn’t the sending of email work?
can i test the sending of email from winbox? to check if i have configured it alright in winbox?

I have made this testings:

When I copy the URL https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/user?startpage=21&page=start and paste it in browser then it works.

When i click on the same link from paypal ( i click on the button “return to merchant”) it doesnt work the first time, but when i click try again then it works.

When i click on the same link (return to merchant) from paypal, while I am logged in to hotspot with a username and password, then it works.

The sending of email still dont work:

in winbox there is an error message: error sending email: invalid TO address

Any help?

*) Does the email address contain some specific characters? Space? Dashes? Dots? Letters other than Latin?

No, i have tried with more email adresses ex. myemailadress@email.t-com.hr and my_email_adress@yahoo.com but when i try to send a mail from winbox to the same email adress, then it works.

I have tried with mozilla and explorer
just to explain:
I am using a domain name to access my router, so the address to the UM user login page is:

https://mydomain@dyndns.org/user

this link works fine.

But if i do the signup process and then after the payment press on “return to merchant” in paypal, then i get a connection error page, as tough the page could not be accessed. If i now click on refresh, then it will put me through to the user page.
If i try to type the link in the browser myself https://mydomain@dyndns.org/user it always works.
The only time it doesnt work is when returning form paypal by pressing “return to merchant”

I think that this must be a problem with walled garden, because if i firs log in to hotspot with a valid user name and password and then make the same procedure, then i don’t get this error.

Also if i do the sign up process from my local network lan1 (hotspot is running on wlan1, lan1 is my private network) then i also dont get this error.

What do you have in the usermanager, customer, paypal field “Return URL” ?

If the link works via a refresh and no action in between it cannot be walled garden.

I don’t use User Manager and sign-ups via Paypal, but I assume the “return to merchant” URL attempts to log the user in? There was a bug in 3.x fixed at some point where the redirect after login would fail if an address pool was set on the Hotspot. If you have an address pool set, try to upgrade to the latest version, or set the address pool on the Hotspot to ‘none’ and see if you still get the error.
