I play a little bit with the wifi system of mikrotik.
As central Router i have use a RB4011IGS+RM. At the WAN port i have connected to the internet and also to a computer how has installed librespeed for testing the performance. If i only connect the laptop directly do the LAN port, i get a performance of 1GBit with firewall and NAT.
So next step. I use a CapAC as a normal AP. The performance was great. Download about 400MBit and 550 Upload at 5GHz and from 50 to 80 MBit in both direction on 2.4GHz. I don’t know why download is lower then upload but its ok.
Then i turn of the cap ac and use a Audience as WLAN System. I use them only as Capsman and the wlan interfaces inside them, so i turned of the WAN device. I get a litte lower performance on 5GHz as before but they are also ok. 2.4GHz same speed 50 up to 80. Now i disable the interfaces on the Audience and use the CapAC as Caps client. Get the same results on both frequencies.
Next step the PL7411-2nD device. I only use the LAN and WLAN interface. I don’t use the powerline interface, it is disabled. As normal AP i get sometimes a good Performance up to 40MBit but … a lot of the time i get a very worst performance. About 6MBit down and 8MBit up. Normaly the test shows a lower speed at starting and goes up to a very good result. But at the PL7411 it starts about 40MBit and goes down to 8MBit. It is the same if i use Audience as a Capsman server and the PL7411 as client.
Does someone know the problems with the performance at the PL7411? I want to use them as a CapsMan Netzwork over Powerline at my customers but i can’t use the devices at the moment.
