Persistent SNMP interface index

We are doing some SNMP queries based on the wlan1 interface index number.

Can we be sure that the interfaces will always have the same index numbers after a reboot? (assuming no configuration changes)

Is there some trick (such as changing MAC addresses?) that will influence what interface index number is assigned at start-up?

SNMP oids do not change after reboot for wlan1 (values remain the same).
