I have SXT LTE6 acting as a modem and pfSense as the router.
I haven’t noticed any problems when SXT LTE was setup without passthrough. pfSense would always connect to default IP as gateway without any delay (192.168.88.1).
After enabling passthrough, pfSense would have trouble connecting to the gateway after a restart or disabling the interface, or after a restart of the SXT LTE6. This is what’s in the pfsense logs:
arpresolve: can’t allocate llinfo for 10.x.y.168
Sometimes pfSense reconnects to the gateway successfully after a reboot, sometimes after I disable/enable the interface (the system works 100% fine after pfSense successfully connects to the gateway).
The gateway IP is always the same (i’m always connected to the same provider, but sxt lte6 sometimes briefly connects to another cell tower).
I want pfSense to always reconnect successfully to the gateway, no matter which part of the sistem I decide to restart.
I’m out of my depth here, I’m a newbie when it comes to network. Can someone nudge me in the right direction? How should I debug this, what info do I need?
