We have a number of clients who we’ve set up with pfSense boxes.
They either connect direct to our cable network or to DSL modems / routers in bridge mode.
I’m looking at simplifying our support procedures and am thinking of dumping pfSense and replacing those boxes with pfSense boxes.
My selling point to clients will be that at about 140KWH a month for a pc with a 200W power supply just the electricity saved by switching to RB750 will see the little routers paying for themselves within a couple of months.
Obviously the major thing for us is that we’re getting closer and closed to a “MikroTik Powered Network” - which means with pfSense gone, there’s one less routing technology to support.
Are there any other advantages / plus points I could use when I try to sell the concept to customers?
