PII PC Not finding Atheros Card

Hi All,

I have currently a test machine with ROS installed, when I remove HDD and migrate to PII the Atheros PCI card is not found, but on returning both Wireless PCI card and HDD to the P4 it works fine.

I would like to use the PII for the router and the P4 for another use, but am unable to get the wireless card working on the PII machine. Is there a way to force detection of atheros wifi card?

you will have to send your supout.rif file to support, there is no way to detect the problem without it.

Are you sure that your PII motherboard support the PCI 2.2 standard (3.3V signaling)?
If i’m not in wrong, that standard was supported since PIII “age”.

Works fine on P4 still going to test on PIII

You may pretty easily modify that PII board to support PCI2.x as it is most probably the cause of a problem.

for now i don't have plann on P4, i know how much power consumtion... !!

What is the model of your wireless PCI cards?

The wireless card that i am using is an SMC with atheros chipset…108mbits

SMC WPCIT-G I think it is…not very sure…don’t have the box anymore.
