Please Help me OverStand,,,

Hello to All,
I am so confused. I have an Ubiquiti dish on my roof. I had a Ubiquiti Air Router which did not give me the desired Internet Connection that I like. I use to live in the city where I worked for Comcast business services and had great internet. I later moved into the mountains where now, my internet is radio waves and it sucks. My ISP gives me the 10 down 7 up max speed and i pay $90 per month. I usually get about 6 down and 3 up. Well recently the ISP team came over and changed out my Air Router to this Mikrotik Routerboard, he said that i have 5G capabilities now. I am a semi-pro gamer and now that I am in the mountains, my internet has been so bad that I have not been gaming. He promised that i should have my fast speed now that i have this new router. 3 days after the install, another Tech contacted me and told me that the Mikrotik is on 5G and so is the dish on my house and with that being so, they may interfere with each other so, I have to go back down to the 2.4G connection which is slower than what i was getting with the Air Router. Have you guys ever heard of the Dish and the router interfering with each other? That sounds odd to me… Thanks

Well firstly 2.4Ghz will be more than fast enough for your internet connection. You should be able to achieve around 30-60mbps on 2.4Ghz dependant on a whole lot of factors. If you are running 5.8Ghz on your roof and in your home it can interfere - But this can easily be sorted out by doing a scan and seeing if they are sitting on the same overlapping channel and then changing the channel on the internal wireless device.

Either way your ISP should guarantee the speeds of your internet connection, anything internal is usually up to you, as many factors influence wireless such as wall thickness, distance, frequency, channel width, wireless PCI/USB cards, drivers etc.
