I have no space for rack units and fans are completely out of the question, but I cannot do anymore with external power supplies.
I guess for this to be acceptable, they should be easy to source and replace without having to send the units back.
This also means not having at least 1x gigabit PoE out (for now) is no longer acceptable.

You can buy PoE 24 port PoE switch for as low as 100 USD the PoE injector is intended for someone who has very few device,
As I said, I have no space. That’s why I buy routers with at least 10 ports, but not if they are rack units.
I don’t think you will find any 10+ port router that is NOT rack mount and HAS an internal power supply.
You will likely need to build a custom x86 type unit.
The point is that Mikrotik should make better desktop units, not what everybody does.
And this is actually a general request for better ready-made products for consumers, not about hacking.
