Please!!

I please very much. Port Dude to Linux. In Wine Dude doesnt run corectly. I wont be definitely alone who would lile the same. Thank you.

wine runs dude just fine, what problems do you have?

Normis,

The primary reason I came to RouterOS is that I love Linux, and RouterOS is based on Linux. I HATE that Mikrotik makes me either pollute my network with Micro$oft garbage or go it alone to figure out how to run their various applications on my rack-mounted headless servers using a virtual framebuffer.

I’m sure The Dude, etc. will run fine under Wine, but nowhere does it give me nice, specific instructions on how to load it onto my headless servers… A configuration I’m sure is VERY common among ISPs.

And by the way, while your Windows software may work fine under Wine, I’m sure the Linux version would run fine under Cygwin!

For goodness sakes, please quit cramming Micro$oft down our throats! At the very least give us a pure service version of The Dude that doesn’t require a framebuffer interface to run.

Of course, we’d really like it if you took it one step further… Simply take a little time and compile The Dude using Winelib to produce that nice native Linux daemon we crave!!! Here’s the link:
