POE for RouterBoard 3011UiAS-RM

Hello,

I bought a RouterBoard 3011UiAS-RM. So var very impressed.
The power cable isn’t the greatest design though. I knew this from the reviews though and always planned to power it via POE. I have a Ubiquiti UBUS24250W for that.

Only problem I see is it appears port1 is the only port to accept POE in. This is also the only port that can be designated the WAN interface (other than SFP). Is there a way to change that? I guess I could bundle it with another port on the switch in a private VLAN but that’s a waste of a port.

On any ROS powered device, there is no dedicated WAN port. They are just ports.
WAN port is a role you can assign to any of them by configuration. It just doesn’t work via Quick Set and has to be done by hand.

Ah, thanks. I’m new to RouterOS so I was living in Quick Set land :slight_smile:
