Any suggestions on a replacement for the original routerboard51 poe for my routerboard200s that will go at least 200ft? i have lost 3 of these in the last week just doing some bench testing… are these generally pretty fragile? all of my wires test fine, connected them into the correct ports and i had no power surges. now the hub/switch port on them are all dead. would like to find a decent replacement that others have found worked w/ this board.
Get a passive PoE, and then go to an electronics store and get a power supply with the correct volt/amp combination for the board specs and you should be fine…
Try using a UPS/Surge protector on the PoE so it doesn’t die again.
which brand/company do you suggest getting the passive poe’s along w/ a surge protector from?
The pasive PoE from Mikrotik should be fine. IMHO, it’s a generic thing, many online store sell it.
For power surge, I’m using APC.
