I’ve included my scenario below but basically what I’m trying to do is setup 3 AP’s that will allow wireless client connections and each of those 3 AP’s need to connect to a central AP. The only thing wired in this setup is the connection from the main router to the central ap.
The hardware I had planned on using was RB411 and R52Hn radio module at all locations (or will I need 2 radio modules?).
Is this doable or how would it be accomplished? I’ve read through the docs and various forum posts but I’m still a little unsure.
You could do this with one radio at each site but you are going to have performance problems. You really need to have 2 radios in each AP. One for the clients to connect to and another for the backhaul. If you can you should also use different bands for each. Example: 5GHz for backhaul and 2.4GHz for your clients.
yes, a RB433ah is a good solution. to use 2 mini PCI
R52Hn is a good mini PCI but remember using dual pol. antenna to get the best throughput.
Also use mimo clients. if u make a wireless mesh with rb411ah and one mini PCI it does have performance issues.
