Point to Multipoint Speed Issues

Hi Guys,

We recently setup a point to multipoint with the following hardware on the highsite:

1 x RB433AH
2 x XR5 cards
2 x 17dBi 90degree Sectors

We then connected 3 clients to the HighSite and the speeds were about 1.5MB/s which we were happy with.
The client hardware is:

2 x RB133
1 x RB411
3 x R52
3 x 31dBi Grids

2 connected to the one sector and 1 connected to the other sector.

Then this morning we installed another two clients with the following hardware:

2 x RB411
2 x R52H
2 x 31dBi Grids

Each connected to different sectors.

Now we are struggling to get 750KB/s

Signal STR and SNR on all of the clients are good.
We’re running the Highsite as AP Bridge and Dynamic WDS with clients as Station WDS

One thing I’ve noticed is that the TRX CCQ drops a lot when transferring files. Till around 20% (Which is probably our problem)
When nobody is transferring anything the CCQ is around 90%-100%

What can we try and do to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance!

try to change R52H. You must keep in mind that in ptmp the ap speed can’t be more than 15mbps (in my case). You can try to lock data rate to 36 or 24mbps. On AP side.

Thanks for the reply InoX

I’ve played around with Freq & Trx Power and came nowhere.

We’ve enabled nStreme and saw a drastic increase in CCQ.
So we are getting about 15Mbps (Split between up and down) per sector.

This still seems a bit low? We were hoping for 5 people that it would be much better!

Currently there are 2 people on a sector. The one client is away on Holiday so we disconnected him for testing purposes

You can try to lock data rate to 36 or 24mbps. On AP side.

How will I do this? On the wireless interface under data rate just select the 24/36Mbps?

yep…and you can’t do more than 15mbps per sector
as you can see one sector and 100% CCQ
