Hi all,
I need to put up an STL video-HD /AUDIO link between a Studio and the main transmitter site (aprox 16km)
I have been using Mikrotik for several years and am very happy with it up to now (DATA).
This link will use HD-SDI Encoders (MAXWEL) to reach the TX site .
The protocol can be any, but i think UDP would be OK.
I really need advice as to eliminate LAG, Jitter and reduce lost frames … And adjust TX/RX ratio …
The Video will not go over 10Mb/s (1 stream only)
Can anyone advise me on this ? (Equipments and config )
Many Thanks
David
If this is for professional use or to provide 24/7 service, I’d go straight to mANT30-PA coupled with either Netbox 5 or Netmetal 5.
Cheaper alternatives: DynaDish 5
Maybe useful for testing, but you won’t be for sure complying with regulatory laws in terms of PIRE: QRT5
(Datasheets and orientative public prices available on http://routerboard.com)
Regarding config for such a link, maybe a regular nstreme or nv2 PTP link will do with some tuning on the framing, or maybe it will need more optimizations like QoS, using MPLS with EXP bits with nv2… it depends, testing will be needed.
So far you can achieve steady 0-2ms latency using nstreme, at least for sure on N radios.
Hi,
Thanks for the tip !
This is for Africa so … no problem for regulations (at least less than EU …)
