Hello.
I have observed and confirmed the following in a metro area PtMP NV2 network. I am the admin but also one of the clients. I like to use XBMC to watch HD streaming content. My TCP bandwidth fluctuates around 30 - 40 Mbps down, 43 - 53 Mbps up, with 3 - 5 ms ping. The access point is an Omnitik running the latest and greatest version of RouterOS and wireless-fp. When I set the interface queue for the wlan on the Access Point to “only hardware queue” (in order to activate fast path on the interface), the streaming grinds to almost a halt. As soon as I set the queue back to “wireless default” (sfq), it all works super fine and can watch whatever I want. The pure TCP bandwidth does not seem to be significantly affected by the queue type though.
Has anyone else here observed such behaviour? Mikrotik, would you guess that this could possibly be alleviated by further optimizations in the wireless-fp package? This problem effectively cancels our option to run the wlan on fast path.
