Popup page for user login&usage details

Hey guys.

I would like to create a page on my website where my users can enter their username and password and get a feedback on their account status. If it looks something the hotspot popup page its fine - it should just include the TOTAL usage stats and not just the session stats.

This should be possible I reccon - does any one have something like this allready set up?
If not, can any one give me a hint as to what the link should look like?

User Manager stats for each user are available at http:///user
with original user login and password.

yeah uhm…thats not quite the answer to the question, but thanks for replying.

Maybe I should explain with more detail…

I know the user can log in on the “Mikrotik™” user manger user page and look at the information. I, while being a mikrotik fan, don’t like the login page that the user will be presented with. I can’t change it (yet apperantly) so I’m looking for a way to get the individual user information by some other meens.

What I’m thinking of is creating a little pop up page where they can then enter the user name and password. What I am not sure of is firstly what the “link” should look like after they enter their detail. After they enter “johndoe” “password” the link will have to be something like http://usermanager_host/user/username=“johndoe”?password=“password”?get_bites-downloaded*** This is what I meen when I say “link”.
Secondly this will now send them to the mikrotik user information page. Again, no offence, not the nicest looking page with a whole lot of extra jargon, perhaps usefull to me but useless to the user. I only want to output the neccasary data i.e. ALL the data transfered for instence (up & downloads) calculated from all the sessions he has logged.

In other words - a very quick way for the user to see how much data transfers he has left on his account.

Does this make sense to you? :confused:

thank you for the explanation.
In other words you want to get information from User-Manager about statistic in your server.
Unfortunately it is not possible,
but we are trying to improve User-Manager as much as possible.

So, there is something planned for the future.

  • ability to change colors and logos on User-Manager pages.
  • ability to select option to show in the way your like.

now if you don’t mind me saying…THAT sounds like a plan :sunglasses:

While you’re at it, why not make routerOS capable of working with hostnames as well, instead of just IP addresses :stuck_out_tongue:
