port 5678

Hi all!

http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/port-5678-traffic/1232/1 already has some info on it, but I’m still curious.

http://www.iss.net/security_center/advice/Exploits/Ports/5678/default.htm states that port 5678 was used for PPTP until the standard was ratified (then 1723 was used instead).

So now I’m wondering… Are the broadcasts on 5678/UDP related to PPTP, or to neighborhood discovery…?
