Port foward with NAT masquerade for LTE Interface

Hi,

With a simple setup of my hAP ac I don’t seem to manage getting ports forwarded. I hope you can help me out on this one.

I’ve got a hAP ac with a USB LTE dongle as my only way to connect to Internet. I’ve only set up an internal DHCP server and use the router to connect some phones and computers to the internet. For this I basically used the provided Quick Setup example on the LTE wiki page and the advice to forward ports on the NAT page.

I created some different examples to try, but non of the ports are available from the outside:

I tried with and without “In Interface” (lte1), but to no avail.

What could be the problem here?

I forgot to add that it’s a Huawei e3372 dongle that I’m using and I’m on RouterOS v6.40.1.
For the rest it’s basically still an out-of-the-box configuration with the exception of setting a WiFi password and changing the default IP address and DHCP range.

Hello Your Telco Operator is natting you ip. that’s why port forwarding is not working.

Thank you for your reply.
I had that in the back of my mind as well, but since I’m new to RouterOS I wanted to make sure it wasn’t an error on my side.

Can you confirm that my config should be OK in it’s current form? Or is there a better way to confirm it’s the operator causing the problem?

you can check with a traceroute

Or checking that your public ip address is the same one as your lte assigned ip address

Spot on, they are different indeed…
I suppose the only thing I can do with a connection like this is start using a VPN with static IP, or do you suppose I have an alternative?

Have a vps with a vpn from your mtk which forwards all incoming traffic to the mtk. But it can be expensive depending of your vps provider. CHR is available on aws for example.
