MikroTik Rauter OS Certified to Work Together with PortaOne’s Range of IP Telephony Solutions and Products
Coquitlam, BC, May 3, 2007. - PortaOne Inc., a leading global communications software infrastructure vendor, today announced the completion of comprehensive interoperability testing program between PortaSwitch and MikroTik Router OS. As a result of this certification, customers can safely select PortaOne’s PortaSwitch billing, provisioning and switching software solutions in combination with MikroTik’s wireless router solutions.

MikroTik’s wireless systems enable modern communication companies to provide wireless access to the end-users through point-to-point or point-to-multipoint architecture. Wireless data links take place where there is no infrastructure for internet access or in places where bandwidth offered by current channels is too low. Product’s various features include firewall, NAT, VPN, Bandwidth Management, QoS and many more.

PortaOne’s flagship products, PortaSwicth is a software-based communication services and subscriber management platform that unifies voice, data and fax traffic within a single network. A ready replacement for Class 5 switches, PortaSwitch consists of a soft-switch and application servers that provide access to the IP Centrex/IP PBX feature set. PortaBilling100, being a part of PortaSwitch, is extremely flexible, state-of-the-art customer management and billing platform for immediate launching, pricing and provisioning of prepaid, postpaid and wholesale VoIP services.

According to Roman Khalenkov, Sales and Marketing Director at PortaOne, “PortaSwitch’s features allow not only per minute billing, they also support an endless list of various billing scenarios that are rather event based, not minute based. Our successful interoperability testing allows customers to safely use MikroTik’s wireless solutions together with billing capabilities of PortaSwitch. Billing for wireless services and management of per-event charges (i.g. WiFi HotSpot access) are seamless now.”…
