Possible bug: Usermanager mac auth and user prefix

Hey folks,

Trying to figure out if I have found a bug in usermanager or if I am doing something wrong.

I have defined a user prefix for one of my customers who has a hotspot of their own in my network and they use my central user manager deployment which has two or three cybercafes operating off it.

My problem is this. When we create a user in usermanager we must use the prefix MS in front of the username. When the user logs on as MSalex for example everything works well.

I am now trying to figure out how to mac authentication with prefix. when I put the plain mac address in it works but obviously the customer cant then manage the user as they cant see the mac address because there is no prefix assigned.

How can I use user prefix and mac auth in user manager?

I dont want to put the mac auth users in the local db of the routerboard.

Help appreciated.

Yes, you are right, when prefix is used, it is problematic for MAC-address users.
This is fixed in the new User Manager, which is not available for public yet.

Hi Sergejs,

Thanks for the response. Saves me fighting with it any more.

I know this is the most hated question, but is there any timeframe for new userman? Say first quater next year?

Forgive me for asking…

It could be 2-4 months, but we cannot guarantee.
