Possible v4.11, v5.0b5/6 Wireless Bugs

I have been playing with the new NV2 protocol in v5.0b5/6 recently (very impressive). During my testing I setup a mixed RouterOS environment. My setup is as follows:

1 x RouterOS v3.30 with XR5
1 x RouterOS v4.11 with XR5
1 x RouterOS v4.11 wth XR71-A/5
1 x RouterOS v5.0b6 with XR5
1 x RouterOS v5.0b6 with XR71-A/5

I am noticing some possible bugs with the versions:

Bug 1: AP problem in v4.11 with XR71-A when using a single antenna

    • if you configure v4.11 with a XR71-A as a station, and set it to use chain 0 and have only only antenna connected on chain 0 everything works as it is supposed to. However if you configure the same unit to function as an AP it will not work (Tx acts as if no antenna). If you physically connect a 2nd antenna, yet RouterOS is still set to use only chain 0 it will work.
    • This appeared to be a bug with v4.11 and does not occur in v5.0b6.

Bug 2: Signal report issue in v5.0b5/6 with XR71-5

    • if you configure a RouterOS as a station with an XR5 and record the signal reading in v5.0b5/6 then replace that card with a XR71-5 the Rx signal reports 7 dB worse in status page. If you downgrade the unit to v4.11 the signals for both cards match (as they should).

In summary it appears that v5.0b5/6 fixes the AP issue with XR71 cards but introduces a new problem with the XR71 cards in regards to Rx signal strength.

Cheers
