Possible with SwOS and RB 260GS

Hello,

i’m new to mikrotik/swos and want to know which hardware i have to buy.
i just want to place a layer 3 switch between the internet router and the LAN on every site of the company.
on each company site we’ve got a 20MBit internet connection and want to give VOIP taffic (e.g. UDP 4569 iax or UDP 5060-6000 tcp) 5 MBit dedicated.
the other traffic can have the 15MBit - SMTP, http and so on.

can anyone tell me if its possible with SwOS and RB 260GS?

i think no, as the RB250GS/RB260GS are managed Layer 2 devices and NOT layer 3 devices.

Hello,

no, SwOs is only layer 2, so RVB250GS / RB260GS can not do this obviously. You should go for a ROS device.

Simply keep in mind, that SwOs is a managed Layer2 switch (Webinterface) i can not do any Layer3 things at this time (and a propose, the actual 2 products will never be :wink:
