POWER ATL_5G_R16 and SXT SQ 5ax

Hello ,

I tried to power up these 2 devices with GPER14i without success. The ATL5G is power on properly but no luck with the SXT. Could you suggest any other poe splitter to do the job ?

Thanks in advance

You should provide us with a little bit more information. GPER14i should power both devices without a problem.

What are you using as your power supply ? Maybe your power supply doesn’t have enough power.

Did you check in SwOS if PoE is enabled on SXT port ?

What supply voltage are you using ?

All your devices supports up to 57V so I would suggest you that you use higher voltage if possible, especially if there are longer cable runs from GPER14i towards your devices.

GPER14i -> PoE out 802.3af/at <- this means * Active * 44-57 V, can be powered by both *Active * and * Passive * "high voltage" PoE or (still at 48 V or so) through the two power pins, see:

ATL5G -> PoE in 802.3af/at <- this means * Active * 44-57 V BUT it accepts also * Passive * 12-56V

SXT SQ5 Ax-> PoE in * Passive* PoE in input Voltage 12-28 V <- do you see where the issue is?

You need to power the GPER14i with "high voltage" 802.3 at/af/bt PoE and something else that converts the PoE out (802.3af/at) to 24V or so to feed it into the SXT.

Google for (examples):
POE-CONV-4824G
PS5724AT-RJ
UQ-INS-8023AF-I-G

BUT these - usually - are not suitable for outdoor installation.

So, search for:
UQ-INS-3AF-O-G

SXT SQ5 Ax-> PoE in * Passive* PoE in input Voltage 12-28 V <- do you see where the issue is?

Didn’t check the topic name… So as @jaclaz said, UQ-INS-3AF-O-G is a way to go IMHO, i use it all the time.

This make sense, so if i understand correct the UQ-INS-3AF-O-G needs to connect on the SXT poe in ,

Thanks for the reply ,

Yep.

It depends on your network topology, it could be placed near the GPER14i or near the SXT, if there is a long stretch of ethernet cable between the GPER14i and the SXT it is better to run 48V on the PoE, if it is within 20 m or so running it at 24V is fine as well.
