Power Cycling Ether10 on Specific Event

Hey,

I’ve been trying to debug a frequent disconnect issue for almost 2 months now. It seems the issue is not going anywhere, so I decided it’s best to just workaround it.

Currently I have a dish device to receive internet from a different distant dish. My two problems are:

  • The upstream provider disconnects sometimes.
  • My own house dish freezes frequently.

So I want to Power Cycle Ethernet port 10 (PoE) only when the log displays “pppoe-out1: terminating… - peer is not responding” which, when logged, probably means the second problem happened.

So you see why I can’t use the provided Power-Cycle-with-ping option; I don’t want frequent power cycles to my dish unnecessarily which may shorten its life span.

Help is greatly appreciated. It seems I’m cornered into this workaround, unfortunately.
