power RB4011 via POE from CRS328-24P-4S+RM?

I wonder if it is possible to power a RB4011 via POE-Out from a CRS328-24P-4S+RM

Accoring to specs, the RB4011 has the ability to be powered from passive POE-Input, which the CRS328-24P-4S+RM is able to provide.
However, the RB4011 has an overall power consumption of up to 33W, while passive POE provided Amps from CRS328-24P-4S+RM are either 1A or 0,45A at 26V/53V, which is way below the mark of 33W.

The RB4011 will at least be used with 4-5 of the 1G-ports and 1 fiber SFP+ active DAC.

Many thanks in advance!

To stay on the safe side (and keep away from frying anything in CRS328 or RB4011) you better don’t use PoE in this combination. Power consumption of RB4011 will likely exceed CRS328’s PoE out capability with your configuration (at least from time to time). If you really can’t use supplied power adapter (using barrel connector), then you could use RBGBPOE to provide PoE to RB4011 … just be aware of voltage drop on longer UTP cables.

OK, thank you very much for your fast response!
That’s what I thought, too..I already have a 16-port 802.3af/at injector in my cabinet, but it is not able to offer passive PoE.
Being in need for a new switch, I thought of getting the CRS328 (also getting some more load on its PSU in order to boost overall efficiency)
Since the APs and cameras all can operate on 802.3af/at, I’ll better be going for the CRS326 then..
