I’ve an installation on a pole with: sxt5ac, basebox2, rb951 and a speed dome camera with poe+ ord 24vac 60w.
I want to install a watherproof box on the pole.
What you suggest to power this units safely and securely?
Do you use a battery backup to protect the units?
there are many automatic battery charger circuit , but you should know about your battery voltage , a 12 volts SLA battery will be died forever under deep discharge , 11.9 or 12.0 volts is the minimum threshold , 13.4 or 13.6 is the maximum,
LVD(low voltage disconnect circuit should be use to cut off your devices from battery in case of under 11.9 or 12 volts
I have been using for years the Meanwell SMPS I listed with deep cycle batteries, the batteries are on a continuous float charge of 27.4V from the SMPS,
When there is a AC outage the SMPS automatically switches to the batteries but unfortunately when the batteries drop below 21v (or so) the SMPS Low voltage circuit disconnects the batteries, which is very annoying when using deep cycle batteries?
I use digital mppt solar regulator powered by appropriate power supply. All the battery voltage characteristics are freely configurable with the 0,1V step.
