CAPsMAN is a great feature for several APs. But how to power up several APs over POE?
Is there a POE Switch works with Mikrotik AP?
POE Injector Panel? Recommendation?
I would be interested who has already larger indoor WLAN projects realized with Mikrotik? Why Mikrotik? Would you do it again with Mikrotik?
These are just a few items from the RouterBoard range that do PoE output.
PowerBox (RB750P-PBr2); 1x PoE in → 4xPoE Out
hex PoE lite; 1x PoE in → 4xPoE Out
RB260GSP; 1x PoE in → 4xPoE Out
I have experience with PowerBox and the RB260GSP, they work great(Just need to remember to click the option of using long PoE cable if your patch lead is > 2Meters(the auto default’s can produce odd PoE effects when powering more than 1 device) ! ). Make sure where possible you use CAT 6 or Cat5e with larger AWG guage wire to help reduce voltage drop. Also use a power supply capable of at least 2.5Amps minimum, and a personal suggestion of at least 24volts DC!..
Being able to remote in to these units and enable/disable PoE remotely is great..
