The Mikrotik PowerBox (RB750P-PBr2) is not comming up after upgrading the RouterOS. I dropped the MIPSBE 6.34.1 (Current) in the File Area and pushed “Reboot” via Winbox. After Reboot 10 minutes nothing happened. No interface comes up an der LED “ACT” turns from “off” to “50%on” and “100%” - but nothing more happens. Netinstall was useless - any interface was indicated with 1-5 LED when connecting the CAT cable. I checked the CAT cable, the switch behind - works fine. The PowerBox ist unrechable, all interfaces down.
I RMAed a PowerBox last week for exactly this circumstance – it was totally bricked. I then ordered another unit from a different dealer so I could continue the project. It came in today. Right out of the box it will not netinstall. This one at least will boot and upgrade normally, but stubbornly refuses to netinstall either with the button or with /system routerboard settings. I then verified my netinstall lashup with an SXT I had on the shelf, and it works right away. I’m concerned about a problem with this model, either on its own or in conjunction with the firmware in recent ROS releases.
Make sure you are using very latest version of netinstall (at this writing, 6.34.1). Martins S. advised me to upgrade to this version and my problem was immediately solved.
I have two brand new PowerBoxes right out of the box.
If you try to update the Router OS on the Powerbox by either dragging the package over via winbox and reboot or using the
/sys pack up in
the devices reboots and then loses all indication of power. When you powercycle it to bring it back to life its in PXE-boot mode and can only be revived by a netinstall.
After said netinstall (6.34.1) and then another
/sys pack up in
same thing happens. I used 6.34.1 so I could upgrade to a later version and confirm this was happening.
