Powering AP from hAP ac lite

Hi, I am owner of RB952Ui-5ac2nD. It is placed in apartment corner. I want to improve WI-FI coverage by putting wireless access point closer to apartments centre and letting RB952Ui-5ac2nD work only as router/switch.

And now I have two questions:

  1. Is there any advantages of using RBwAPG-5HacT2HnD over RBcAPGi-5acD2nD in not so big apartments?
  2. Can I power RBcAPGi-5acD2nD trough PoE from RB952Ui-5ac2nD without any additional gears?

  1. You can achieve higher data rates with wAPG as it has three wireless chains on 5Ghz interface, but overall, no significant difference between the devices will be observed in your described setup.
  2. If you are using RB952Ui-5ac2nD with default PSU, you will have 12W on poe-out port. If you do not plan to use poe-out port on RBcAPGi-5acD2nD while powered from RB952Ui-5ac2nD poe-out port - it should be enough.
