In testing, I found the PowerBox Pro can be powered over PoE on the standard blue and brown, but also on orange and green. I ran some further testing, and it appears that although it can be powered on all 4 pairs, when all 4 pairs are connected, it there is only current on the standard pairs. When the standard pairs are disconnected from power, current will flow on the secondary pairs. It will even accept reverse polarity in certain circumstances.
Is there any chance the PowerBox will end up with a hardware change with an updated rectifier that allows for power over all 4 pairs simultaneously? This would be very useful for long power runs, lowering power losses, and increasing power capacity of the PoE input.
When might we start seeing PoE++ style inputs (power on all 4 pairs)?
Thank you, Chris
