PPoE Concentrator for DSL Service?

We currently sell DSL and are using a Cisco 3600 router with a 4 port IMA card. Right now we are doing all the PPPoE services on the Cisco Router. But I would love to be able to move the PPPoE concentrator to a Mikrotik box. Now I’m aware that Mikrotik doesn’t have ATM support. But shouldn’t I be able to build the PVC’s on the cisco and bridge them over an ethernet to a Mikrotik box running a PPPoE server? Is anyone doing this? I really like the managability of the PPPoE on RouterOS; and would like to be able to easily implement QOS rules on a per user basis, among many other things.

Eric

I would say that as long as the mikrotik is in between the ethernet flow it should be able to find the pppoe on a bridged segment

hi,
would you please explain more, what sort of media your customers on, either its fiber of ethernet or sumthing else..and what are you using IMA for? backbone?

Asad
