PPP package missing

Hello,
I just got a nice 450G routerboard as a gift, really nice product and very capable, OS version is 5.6 upgradable to 6.x.
Now, the problem is that the PPP package is missing, so I cannot connect to my ISP.
Using the /system package print → no ppp, on /setup ppp has an ‘X’ mark that says need additional package to be installed.
I tried to import the package from the 5.9 OS version available on download, but of course is not working, right after the import and reboot, connect with Winbox - it pops up the window showing the license information.
Haw can I get that packet for the 5.6 version? Is it any place where I can download it?

Cheers.

Obviously the cleanest thing to do would be upgrade to 5.9 as it fixes bugs present in 5.6 and adds new features.

But if you want to stay on 5.6 you can simply grab the 5.9 download link from the download page:
http://download.mikrotik.com/all_packages-mipsbe-5.9.zip
and edit it for 5.6:
http://download.mikrotik.com/all_packages-mipsbe-5.6.zip

That will contain the package.

WOW!
Thank you!
I will give it a try those days.
I don’t have any experience in upgrading, to be honest I am afraid not to screw up the license, if I go to 5.9 will it be still licensed?
I know I have to read the docs. :unamused:

Thank you again!

From 5.6 to 5.9 you have no license issues.

Upgraded to 5.9.
Fully functional routerOS.
Thank you!
