Say I’m setting up pppoe on my box. What is the local-address setting under /ppp profile? It looks like it should be the internal mikrotik interface address. However, that does not make sense since it is recommended not to have an IP on the internet pppoe interface (for security). Any ideas here? Should it be set? Can it be blank?
quoting the manual:
“local-address (IP address | name; default: 0.0.0.0) - either address or pool name of the PPP server”
so, it’s an IP address used for your PPP connections.
It could be blank under profile submenu, but then you will have to set it under secret submenu up.
