Looking for suggestions on the following:

  1. Is it possible to disable authentication for PPP? Tried it through Winbox and Router OS requires atleast one authentication type to be configured.

  2. Anyone out there tried configuring a secret with wild-card name? I understand Cisco and Juniper support this through VPDN groups.

  3. Wondering if folk have tried (2) using FreeRADIUS.

  1. Authentication is required so you have to choose at least one authentication method
  2. Secrets with wildcards are not supported
  3. You can use any radius server including FreeRadius.

if you use pap - you may allow any login/password in RADIUS. but if using mschap, RADIUS should know user’s password, else it can’t authenticate the user
