PPPoE Client and Server bug

Good day

Have anyone else came across a scenario where you have both the PPPoE client on your wan from ISP and then a PPPoE server to clients freeze up on you.

the problem that i have is that after about 24 hours the PPPoE client will freeze or lock up and no longer passing internet traffic. It will connect to the remote Radius server and it will get the IP address but it no longer passes traffic. You can no longer Ping the interface or log onto the router through that PPPoE out interface. Rebooting the router or disabling enabling the PPPoE out still will not resolve the issue. The only way around is to reset the router. I now have a HAP in production that is still working on that setup however if you try and change the IP address form the remote Radius server it will then lock the PPPoE out again rendering it useless. If you look at the IP list you will see the new IP assignment is there however you can no longer pass traffic over that interface. The radius server also shows online connection with the new IP but you cant ping or any data being passed from that interface.

I found this issue on the HAP AC2 as well as the RB LOO9UiGS RM. No matter what i do the router will simply stop passing traffic over the PPPoE.

You sure you have the right setting on “add default route” because to me it looks like the default route gets dorked when the PPOE connects.
