PPPoE Client can actually select multiple interfaces!

Today, while writing a script, I extracted the Interface information from the PPPoE Client and found that its data type is ‘array.’ This made me realize that in version 7.15.3 of RouterOS, the PPPoE Client properties allow the selection of multiple network interfaces (not sure from which version this change was made). I can’t figure out the applicable scenarios; does anyone know?

Seems that this is a new thing.

The current documentation says about PPPoE client properties:

interface (> string> ; Default: ) > interface > name on which client will run

(emphasis is mine). So the document says that property interface is a single string and description implies it’s single interface.

So we’ll either have to wait to see if/how documentation changes (at some random moment in time) … or we can hope for someone from MT will notice this thread and comment. Or you can direct a question at MT support (and report the answer back here).

Yes, I checked as well, and it seems the official documentation has not been updated yet. The purpose is still unknown; we can only wait and see.

It’s easy: if you have multiple sources, specify more interface where search service/AC Name.
