We have a bank of 5 ADSL lines going to our mikrotik box that requires PPPoE client but when it trys to dial out it just comes up authentication error and then tries to re-dial. On a windows XP machine it connects ok via its built in PPPoE client. Is there anything easy I’m forgetting? All login details are correct I have tried entering them several times on different occasions and my ISP has no solution (they say it’s not reaching them?) I can see what i want to connect to using the scan function so i don’t think it’s a physical problem. Help! Thanks. Jon

please add this to your logging configuration
“system logging add topics=pppoe”
And paste your log output again.
You should check the type of authentication you are using in your “ppp profile”
and… check if you are creating a PPPoE client interface not a ppp client interface, I’ve seen this before.
