I have RB951G-2HnD. My ISP uses PPPoE. I can see big packet loss on that link (see screenshot). No matter what address I try to ping, no matter what physical port I use, no matter what firmware (5.23 and 6.2) I use - losses are there. I tried to change MTU and MRU on PPPoE link from 1480 (default on Mikrotik) to 1492 (default on my old ASUS WL500g) - same losses. I don’t have any losses when I ping router from my computer.
My old ASUS WL500g works just fine using the same cables, no losses at all.
I would appreciate any help and ideas on the issue.
Some other symptoms.
I tried the same PPPoE connection with the same cables on RouterBOARD 750GL and it works just fine, no losses. I configured PPPoE server on 750GL and connected 951G-2GnD to it through PPPoE - works fine, no losses.
What can cause packet losses on PPPoE link on 951G-2GnD?
I figured out that if I put a switch (RB260GS to be specific) in between ISP and 951G-2HnD PPPoE session works fine, no losses.
What can cause such behaviour?
I have the same issue:
RB951G-2HnD
RouterOS 6.19
ISP: Rostelecom (Russia)
Packet loss when connecting to my ISP via PPPoE.
Ping 8.8.8.8 and ya.ru have lost packets. Numerous sites don’t opens.
I’ve changed MTU an flow control of Ethernet interface and nothing helps.
When connecting via PPPoE to ISP from two other devices (laptop and home server) everything fine.
And if I place Dlink DGS-1005d between mikrotik and ISP - mikrotik connects without packet loss.
How to fix this PPPoE issue? What configs I need to show?
