PPPoE Client Setup?

Hi there

I’m running a wireless back haul, bridged and connected via ‘Station Pseudobridge’. I use it for internet access on my farm and connects to a 4mbit ADSL line. My office connects to the back haul via an AP on a tower, 10km away. In the past I did not use PPPoE but I want to get it working because I’m planning to put additional internet users on the network.

I’ve now setup the AP to run a PPPoE server authenticating via Radius using User Manager. I’ve tested a PPPoE client from my office, but I’m struggling to get the PPPoE client to connect to the AP. The status says: ‘Waiting for Packets’?

What am I missing?

Another question: If I want to add additional internet users to the network, how do I make sure that they don’t get full access to the backhaul network (full internet access). Thus, when their CPE’s connects to the AP, they must not have access to the internet until they do a PPPoE dialup. How do I do this?

Currently, by using ‘Station Pseudobrige’ from my office, I get full access (no bandwidth control) to the network. This is fine for me, but I don’t want this to happen with any additional clients. Hope you understand what I mean.

Thx

I’ve switched the ‘Dial on Demand’ option off. That was causing the ‘waiting for packets’ status. Now, I only get statuses of ‘dialing…’, ‘disconnected’.

I can do dialups through windows without problems?

Would appreciate any suggestions.
