PPPoE concetrator on v3RC crashes

I started to use v3 on a new dell 860 server.
I configured a pppoe concentrator with around 100 eoip tunnels with one pppoeserver on each.

Using rc4 it crashed each 48hours. The server was freezed, no keybord use, no monitor show, no ping response. I think it was a kernel panic.

Very happy to see rc5 fixing problem about pppoe server. I immidiately installed rc5 and hopes…it crashed in just 18 hours of operation.

I sent supout generated immediatly after the powercyle, the only way to restore it…

But i think before to add new features it is better to have a more stable core.

OMG…in another words you have 100 pppoe servers - WHY??? Do you have 100 interfaces???

100 eoip interfaces

Here too. The server freezes after 20 hours. No pppoe concentrator, just ip + mac. After the power cycle nothing is logged, then (supposed) the supout register no problem. Version is 3.0rc5. The 2.9.X version is rock solid.

Sorry my mistake!

What hardware are you using? I have single core AMD Athlon64 here - no problems so far.

dell 860 with pentiumD @3.2GHz 2GB RAM

Maybe some problem about ethernet driver?

i searched the web and found numerous report of hangs about PE860 related ACPI when the machine is stressed about upd..

I upgraded to A04 bios from A02-
Next step will be add an intel dual nic disabling the two broadcom gbit onboard.

I am going to research howto disable ACPI but the bios seems missing this feature.

A04 bios, same problem…i will try with intel nics but hope MT could look at it more seriusly.
