Hi there.
I`m using CCR1016 for connecting to high speed pppoe internet from my ISP.
When I have downloading with 600 Mbit/s - my CCR looks likne not multicore (imho of course!). There is 1 (but, different in each other case) core is working hard.
But when I uploading - there round cpu usage, w/o any peaks.
So, question is: Is it possible to make PPPoE working ona many cores while downloading?
I know MikroTik is continually adding more multithread processes with each release. PPPoE may just be one of those that have not made it yet. But I could be wrong.
PPPOE Server Multicore makes sense (and we have that since 6.12?). For PPPOE client, I see no need to make it multicore because its a single link and I think it’s hard to make it multithreaded to distribute it over more than one core.
Which ISP pushes more than 100mbit over PPPOE? imho PPP is ancient and a bad joice for Highspeed links because of encapsulation and needed cpu power on ISP Hardware and customer CPE.
http://unet.by sorry - but russian language only. In my case, I have 1 Gbit/s Local Resources access (truly, I have near 600 Mbit/s in each directions), and equivalent Internet access speed.
