PPPoE Load balancing

We have trouble scaling up our PPPoE service.

We have setup some dedicated PPPoE Mikrotik to serve our PPPoE requests, we have disabled everything else on those RB1100AH. After 800 or so we see some connection being dropped. We have put together more than one box but we usually sees on one RB1100 getting 800 connections while on the other unit we are getting 100 connections only.

Is there a way, maybe with a script and a firewall rule, to stop receiveing new connection after 500 so we could build a more intelligent PPPoE service?

I tought about it last night,

It would be a nice feature to add if it doesn’t exist, a max-connection limit. Where can we propose such a thing as a feature request.

I think I should clarify that I run multiple vlan, thus multiple PPPoE, maximum connections globally I wish to limit and wish not to manage them per running instance in each VLAN.
