Any suggestions for how to monitor pppoe user traffic per connection? I’ve got several hundred users connecting, and I want to be able to monitor their traffic usage 24 hours a day and generate reports. I’d really like to get average bandwidth used and maximum bandwidth used per user…
i suggest to use radius server.

I’m currently using Windows IAS and I don’t think it has this capability…
i would suppose freeradius and perhaps mrtg to create some online monitoring. (but not sure about it – yet)
i am going to build a similar system.
Please see Traffic Counter Utility availale for free download on http://www.mikrotik.com. It works together with IP Accounting feature you can find described somewhere in the manual. Note that it needs an always-working Windows PC (not sure if it will run with Wine on Linux)
