I have a strange problem going on after a circuit upgrade and new router.
I can’t use the old router with the new circuit.
All of my access points are running pppoe assigned public ip addresses.
They worked fine before the router change.
Now what I am seeing is intermittent connectivity to and from the pppoe clients.
When I ping the pppoe client ip address sometimes it will work and sometimes it responds with a gateway address that is
not the gateway.
- example - ping 192.168.0.2 where gateway is 192.168.0.1/24. Ping will respond with Reply from 192.168.0.25: Destination host unreachable. Sometimes same ping reponds with different reply address… none of which is the actual gateway.
Needless to say customers are not connecting most of the time.
I used the same ip addresses and routes on the new router. Added necessary firewall/nat rules to permit the ip addresses.
Still no luck.
Need some help soon.
