[pppoe problem] force all pppoe clients to connect

Hi everyone,

I have a strange problem, I am running a WISP with Mikrotik pppoe concentrators, all clients are connected via wireless stations to central site. TP-Link wireless router does reconnect to the pppoe server in case of dropped connection, for example if the power goes down and up again, the router goes up before the wireless station usually and try to connect to pppoe server then fails, once it fails it never retry.

the thing is almost 90 % of my clients use TP-Link, and in Iraq we have a serious power issues.

Is there a method to force pppoe client to connect, something like magnet pulling the client, some soft of script or special configuration, perhaps a script that make the pppoe server advertises itself to make/force the client to re-connect?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
Layth

Do not see only the price, see also the functionality.

TP-Link are toys.

If the firmware support that, set one watchdog to one public IP.
If pppoe not connect, the IP is unreachable and the device reboot.
Until pppoe estabilish one link.

Thanks rextended for the reply, it is not my choice, my clients use that router because it is the de facto standard in the local market in Iraq. I can’t config the client side, I can’t change the config of 4000+ clients! I need to find something from the server side.

If the problem are on client side, is impossible to resolve the problem without set on each 4000 devices watchdog…

Hi my frined
i saw ur problem and i ihave some friends from iraq they told same problem like this
but i told them the big problem, and he told they use UBNT sectors i think and they put Compliance test
its wrong my friend coze this mode for checking only, coze for example if u put sector on compliance test and all ur users
use Nano and when Electricity down and back for nano , tp-link want connect with server but the nano to now not connect with sector
after more requests from tp-link but without thing - it will Freezes like this in this time the nano connected with the sector
there for if u want to scrape from this problem use Frequency List, in nano and put some Frequency in in like 5 or 6 not more
to can change in ur sector when there noise

My Regards

Thanks for the reply.

The same problem actually happens on users WITHOUT scan list and on users WITH scan list. And it seems to be common for some ISPs while other ISPs have no such issue at all! I don’t know what exactly is going, is it a Mikrotik problem (there is an ISP with Cisco routers does not suffer from this issue).
