I have a problem with PPPoE clients in a WISP environment.
What I would like to do is to have a management network (eg. 192.168.2.0/24) on which set-up all customer’s devices and a PPPoE connection (eg. 192.168.5.0/24) for customer to authenticate them. In this way I will be able to reach CPEs (Access Points/Routers) at customer’s premises on thh management network and customers need to be authenticated with PPPoE in order to surf the Internet (only network 192.168.5.0/24 is authorized to do so).
All the above process works fine (users surf the Internet), except the fact that I am not able to reach authenticated users on their PPPoE IP address from MK. I’ve followed all the steps described on MK manual, IP addresses on MK are as follows:
LAN (Interface I’m connected to) 172.17.1.254
AUTH interface (management and PPPoE Concentrator) 192.168.2.1
Is there something that I have to look at?
