We are currently using a RADIUS server to authenticate our users via their mac address.
What is the advantage/disadvantage of using PPPOE over our current method of authentication.

The main disadvantage for MAC-address method, ‘bad’ client can scan and change/stole MAC-address from ‘good’ (paying) user.
Advantage, MAC-address method does not requires any configuration on the client side, however PPPoE requires PPPoE client configuration.
Alternative option is MAC+encryption protocol (WPA, WPA2) for wireless clients, anyway when AP provides encryption the same encryption settings required for all clients, the same it needs additional configuration on CPE.
