currently I’m using MikroTik with MikroTik radios and I’m doing rate limit by using simple queues on Access Points that act as PPPoE servers (simple queues are created from User Manager). Clients CPEs are doing PPPoE authentication.
In some areas I’m starting to use another vendor.
I made tower routers as PPPoE servers (CCR1009), and so I have simple queues on them to rate limit users.
What do you suggest to have an efficient rate limiting?
Using the rate limiting feature in the new vendor I have a perfect limitation, no issue, it’s a flat line on speedtest.
Using Queues on router, whatever type of queue I choose (and limit disabled on CPE), I always have an unstable speed test and I can’t reach the limit of the profile.
Removing the simple queues I have way more bandwidth than the profile rate limit, so it isn’t a wireless issue…
I want to give burst to users, and using their built-in limitation I can’t do it… The only way is doing that on the router, but I have unstable profiles doing that…
I also tried PCQ queues but I have the same issue.
There is only one user at the moment.
Anyone had this issue and can tell me how to solve it?
